It starts on the night when Amir and his grandfather, Datu Rasul, see the thin crescent moon that marks the start of Ramadan. "I am going to fast every single day of the holy month," Amir says excitedly. “Fasting can be hard,” his grandfather says gently, “especially in the heat,” but Amir holds his ground. He is ready to sacrifice and to be patient and to have faith and to be a better Muslim by following the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Datu Rasul is proud of his grandson’s determination and prays to Allah to grant him strength.
