Description
Science is often viewed as a realm of exact measurements, fixed formulas, and objective truths, particularly in chemistry, which is regarded as the “central science” of laboratories and experiments. However, to view science purely as a mechanical, impersonal process is to miss its true essence. At its core, science is deeply human, flawed, imaginative, and driven by curiosity and a passion for discovery. Chemistry, in particular, exemplifies this human side, where formulas form the structure, but creativity and resilience provide its life force. This essay examines how the human element of science is evident not only in its acts of creative discovery but also in the persistence that follows failure, as well as the cultural and ethical frameworks within which it operates.
