Description

The 21st century is marked by rapid technological acceleration and continuous shifts in computing paradigms. Modern engineering curricula now require proficiency in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Quantum Computing, and Neuromorphic Systems, which define global competitiveness. However, this rapid innovation highlights a serious infrastructure gap across many State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines, especially in provincial areas. The disparity between global standards and local capabilities weakens the country’s ability to produce globally competent, job-ready computer engineering graduates. This issue is not solely technical but rooted in political and budgetary shortcomings that demand ethical governance and prioritized investment.
