Abstract
This study determined the cash grant utilization, challenges encountered, and household well-being of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary households in Casiguran, Sorsogon. Specifically, it assessed the level of cash grant utilization in terms of education, health, and nutrition; identified the challenges encountered by beneficiaries in utilizing the grants; determined the level of household well-being; and examined the significant relationship between cash grant utilization and household well-being. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational quantitative research design. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather data from 920 selected 4Ps beneficiaries who were chosen through purposive sampling from the total population of 2,100 beneficiaries in Casiguran, Sorsogon. Frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient(r) were used to analyze the gathered data. Findings revealed that the respondents always utilized their cash grants for education, health, and nutrition. The beneficiaries encountered moderate challenges in maximizing the benefits of the grants, particularly in relation to financial limitations and rising household expenses. The study also found that the respondents generally experienced a satisfactory level of household well-being in terms of food sufficiency, access to education and health services, financial management, and overall living conditions. Furthermore, the results showed a significant moderate positive relationship between cash grant utilization and household well-being, indicating that effective utilization of cash grants contributes to improved living conditions among beneficiary households. Based on the findings, the study concluded that proper utilization of 4Ps cash grants positively influences the household well-being of beneficiaries. It is recommended that beneficiaries continue prioritizing essential household needs, while government agencies and local stakeholders strengthen financial literacy programs, livelihood opportunities, and support services to further improve the effectiveness of the program.
