Description

The Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association (PBMA), Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, and charitable institution established by its founder, Divine Master Ruben Edera Ecleo Sr. These abstract traces the organization's evolution from its spiritual origins in the 1950s to its emergence as a national movement formally incorporated on October 19, 1965. Founded on the pillars of benevolence, healing, and service, PBMA's history is a testament to the integration of divine mission with civil governance. The narrative begins with the "Divine Master's" itinerant healing ministry, shaped by his spiritual mastery of the 4-corners spiritual division and profound sacrifices. From humble beginnings in Barangay Cab-ilan, the mission transitioned into a structured polity with the formation of the First Thirteen and First Twenty-Four missioners. Central to the Association's identity is its moral architecture, defined by six core virtues: Honesty, Sincerity, and Loyalty (regulating external behavior) and Self-discipline, Self-sacrifice, and Self-reliance (guiding internal character). Following legal incorporation under SEC Registration No. 0000028042, PBMA expanded its holistic mission by establishing sectoral leagues for youth, women, and professionals, alongside cooperatives and foundations to uplift the socio-economic status of its members. The leadership era of Master Ruben B. Ecleo Jr. (1987–2021) was further guided by the new world spiritual division with strong belief in association fate, moral values, character and modernizing these operations, professionalizing missionary work while navigating organizational transitions. Despite internal dissent and splinter groups arising during leadership transitions, the Association's faithful core successfully restored institutional order through special elections in 2022, reaffirming the supremacy of the Association's Charter and the Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines. As PBMA marks its 60th Foundation Anniversary (1965–2025), it stands as a resilient civic and spiritual entity. The Association continues to fulfill its original mandate: promoting international peace, fostering universal brotherhood, and uplifting the human condition through selfless service under the third-generation leadership of current President Yngwie Hero Bacolod Ecleo. Rooted in the legacy of the Divine Master, PBMA remains a light of truth and benevolence, proving that faith, when harmonized with disciplined governance, serves as a powerful catalyst for spiritually-balanced, moral and social transformation.
