Description

Oracy in secondary education is increasingly recognized as a key component of holistic learning that strengthens learners’ speaking and listening abilities while fostering collaboration and critical engagement in classroom settings. This study examines the role of structured oral communication strategies in enhancing the academic performance and social interaction skills of secondary learners. It further explores how oracy-based activities such as discussions, presentations, group work, and peer interaction contribute to improved confidence and articulation of ideas. Findings indicate that consistent implementation of oracy instruction leads to significant improvements in communication fluency, active participation, and academic achievement. The study concludes that oracy is not only a communication skill but also a foundational competency essential for lifelong learning and student success.
