Description
The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped education systems worldwide, and its effects continue to influence student learning in 2026. Among all subject areas, mathematics experienced some of the most significant setbacks. The disruption of face-to-face instruction, combined with unequal access to resources, created learning gaps that persist today. These gaps are not only academic concerns but also indicators of deeper systemic issues that require urgent and sustained attention.
