Abstract
This study determined the level of English Language Proficiency of Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) and Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSFi) graduates of Surigao del Norte State University - Del Carmen Campus, examined significant differences across selected profile variables, developed a training design to address identified gaps, and determined the level of acceptability of the developed training design. Using a quantitative-descriptive research design, data were collected from the selected BAT and BSFi graduates from academic years 2020-2025 through a researcher‑made English Proficiency Test covering grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and comprehension, and an expert‑validated evaluation tool. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, t‑tests, ANOVA, and Kruskal‑Wallis tests. The training design was developed using the ADDIE model and evaluated by (National Educators Academy of the Philippines) NEAP‑accredited experts. Findings revealed that respondents demonstrated an Approaching Proficiency level in grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation, and a Proficient level in comprehension. Differences were generally not significant across profile variables, except for sex in grammar and punctuation. The training design was rated Highly Acceptable across all dimensions. The findings highlight the need for targeted English Language Proficiency training, particularly in grammar and punctuation, and support the implementation of the developed training design as an effective intervention.
