Abstract
This study examined the relationship between financial literacy and financial well-being among residents of Royal Subdivision in Butuan City. Specifically, it assessed financial literacy in terms of knowledge of financial concepts, financial management skills, financial behavior, awareness of financial products, and decision-making in financial matters, as well as financial well-being in terms of perceived financial security, financial satisfaction, debt stress, financial freedom, and economic resilience. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized, and data were collected from 50 respondents through a structured survey questionnaire. The findings revealed that respondents generally demonstrated moderate levels of financial literacy and financial well-being. Statistical analysis showed that all dimensions of financial literacy were significantly related to financial well-being (p-values < 0.05), thereby rejecting the null hypothesis. The results further indicated that financial management skills and decision-making abilities had the strongest relationships with financial security and satisfaction. These findings suggest that improving financial literacy can enhance individuals’ financial stability, reduce stress, and promote better financial outcomes. The study recommends strengthening financial education programs within communities.
