Abstract Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in economic development; however, their sustainability increasingly depends on the effectiveness of promotional strategies amid rapid digital transformation. This study examined the comparative effectiveness of online and offline promotional strategies employed by MSMEs, focusing on their influence on attention generation, consumer engagement, desire formation, and purchase behavior toward sustainable market growth. A descriptive qualitative research design was adopted, utilizing semi-structured interviews with purposively selected MSMEs in Sta. Mesa, Manila. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns and comparative insights across promotional approaches. Findings reveal that online promotional strategies offer superior advantages in terms of market reach, speed, interactivity, and personalization, enabling MSMEs to enhance visibility and consumer engagement more efficiently. Conversely, offline promotional strategies remain significant for building consumer trust, credibility, and emotional connection through tangible, face-to-face interactions. The results further indicate that integrating online and offline strategies yields optimal promotional effectiveness by combining digital scalability with relational authenticity. Overall, the study highlights that hybrid promotional models support MSMEs’ digital transformation, strengthen consumer relationships, and drive sustainable market growth. The findings provide practical guidance for MSME owners, policymakers, and business development institutions on designing integrated promotional frameworks that are responsive to evolving consumer behavior and technological advancements. Abstract This study investigated the effectiveness of karaoke-based instruction on the reading fluency and comprehension of Grade 10 learners using a quantitative pretest–posttest research design. Twenty-three learners were purposively selected from a secondary school class to participate in the four-week intervention. Baseline data were gathered using a standardized oral reading assessment measuring accuracy, rate, prosody, and comprehension. Learners then engaged in karaoke-based reading sessions that integrated guided singing, repeated reading, and vocabulary-aligned comprehension-focused discussions using grade-appropriate instructional songs. The quality of the instructional materials was validated by subject-matter and instructional design experts using a structured evaluation rubric that assessed content accuracy, instructional alignment, and technical quality. Post-intervention assessments employed the same standardized instrument to ensure comparability of results. Data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, weighted means, and descriptive statistics to determine changes in learners’ reading levels and summarize expert ratings. Results revealed that prior to the intervention, most learners were classified at the frustration level in both fluency and comprehension, with no learners reaching the independent level. Following the karaoke-based instruction, learners demonstrated notable improvement, with the majority progressing to the instructional and independent reading levels in fluency and showing measurable gains in comprehension. Expert evaluations rated the instructional songs as Satisfactory in content quality and Very Effective in both instructional and technical quality, reflecting strong alignment with learning objectives and high learner engagement. The findings indicate that karaoke-based instruction is an effective and engaging approach to enhancing reading fluency and comprehension. The study recommends integrating musically supported and culturally relevant materials into literacy programs to promote learner motivation, confidence, and sustained reading development. Abstract This study aimed to determine the level of effectiveness of Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers as perceived by both ALS learners and teachers in terms of instruction, classroom environment, and professional responsibilities. Using a descriptive-comparative research design, data were gathered from ALS learners and teachers through structured questionnaires. Results revealed that ALS teachers were rated Very Effective across all three domains. In the area of instruction, learners rated their teachers with an overall weighted mean of 2.74, while teachers rated themselves slightly higher at 2.94. Regarding the classroom environment, learners gave a mean rating of 2.68, whereas teachers reported a perfect mean of 3.00, emphasizing their strong focus on safety, respect, fairness, and active participation. For professional responsibilities, learners provided a mean rating of 2.72 and teachers 2.89, indicating consistent adherence to professional duties. The Mann-Whitney U Test showed no significant difference between learners’ and teachers’ perceptions of professional responsibilities but revealed substantial differences in instruction and classroom environment. Furthermore, data on student outcomes indicated an overall retention rate of 60.5% and a completion rate of 38.7%, highlighting challenges in sustaining learner engagement and program completion. The study concluded that ALS teachers consistently demonstrate effectiveness in instruction and in maintaining a conducive learning environment. However, discrepancies between learners’ and teachers’ perceptions suggest areas for reflection and professional growth. Strengthening instructional strategies and fostering collaborative, learner-centered practices are recommended to enhance retention and completion rates, thereby improving the overall impact of the ALS program on out-of-school youth and adult learners. Abstract ALS Senior High School learners face academic and psychosocial challenges that affect their learning outcomes. Thus, this study examined Self-Esteem, Non-verbal Intelligence, and Literacy Levels using a descriptive-correlational design. Results showed that learners generally possessed positive self-esteem and average non-verbal intelligence, but struggled significantly in literacy, with most learners reaching the frustration level in both Filipino and English reading comprehension. Correlation analysis revealed no significant relationship between self-esteem and non-verbal intelligence or literacy levels. It is recommended that holistic interventions combining academic and psychosocial support be implemented to better address the needs of ALS learners and enhance their academic success and personal development. Based on the findings, the “Project LIFT: Literacy Integration for Future Thinkers” program was developed to improve reading skills, cognitive abilities, and emotional resilience through targeted academic activities and peer support. Abstract The rapid growth of e-commerce has transformed consumer decision-making processes, particularly among Generation Z, a digitally native cohort characterized by high technological engagement and value-conscious consumption. This study examines how Generation Z balances product cost and perceived quality when making online purchasing decisions within the e-commerce marketplace. Employing a qualitative descriptive research design, the study gathered data through semi-structured interviews with fifty (50) Generation Z students from Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) who have prior experience with online shopping. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns across the stages of the consumer decision-making process, including problem recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation. Findings reveal that Generation Z does not equate low price with poor quality nor high price with superiority; instead, purchasing decisions are driven by perceived value, trust, and social validation. Online reviews, ratings, seller credibility, influencer content, and platform features serve as critical quality cues that mitigate perceived risk. While affordability and promotions enhance purchase intention, respondents demonstrate a willingness to pay premium prices when quality, durability, and functional performance justify the cost. Post-purchase evaluations further reinforce a cyclical decision-making process, wherein satisfaction or dissatisfaction influences future purchasing behavior and digital word-of-mouth engagement. Overall, the study highlights Generation Z as analytical, value-driven, and quality-conscious consumers who strategically navigate cost–quality trade-offs in online environments. The findings offer practical implications for e-commerce platforms and digital marketers in designing transparent, value-oriented, and trust-enhancing strategies aligned with Generation Z preferences. It highlights the adaptive strategies teachers employ, such as differentiated instruction, visual aids, and personalized support, to meet the diverse needs of SNED students. The study also examines teachers’ commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, their emotional resilience, and their ongoing efforts to build meaningful connections with students. Findings reveal the need for more specialized training, resources, and support to enhance the teaching experience and improve learning outcomes for SNED students. The study concludes with recommendations for policy adjustments, professional development, and community engagement to strengthen inclusive education within the ALS framework. Abstract This study explores the psychological distress, academic motivation, and dropout intentions of Senior High School students in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) at San Emmanuel National High School. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational research design, the study aimed to examine the levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among ALS students and their relationships with academic motivation and dropout intentions. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires: the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS-HS 28), and the Course Dropout Intention Scale. Findings revealed that ALS students exhibited moderate to extremely severe levels of psychological distress, particularly in terms of anxiety, while maintaining high levels of academic motivation. Depression showed a significant positive correlation with motivation, suggesting that higher motivation levels are linked to greater depressive symptoms, possibly due to academic pressures. However, no significant relationships were found between anxiety or stress and academic motivation, nor between psychological distress and dropout intentions. Despite experiencing significant psychological distress, students generally showed low intentions to drop out, with most reporting a strong commitment to completing their education. The results underscore the need for comprehensive mental health support within the ALS framework, including counseling and motivation-enhancing interventions, to foster both emotional well-being and academic success. Recommendations include expanding the Psychological First Aid program to address the mental health needs of ALS learners more effectively and provide targeted support to those struggling with depressive symptoms and academic pressures. Abstract This study assesses the digital knowledge, skills, and attitudes of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs and examines their role in enhancing e-commerce competitiveness toward sustainable business growth. Using a descriptive qualitative research design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 purposively selected MSME entrepreneurs in Sta. Mesa, Manila, and is supported by relevant secondary literature. Thematic analysis revealed that MSME entrepreneurs possess multidimensional digital knowledge encompassing technical proficiency, strategic application, ethical awareness, and financial digital literacy, which enables efficient operations and informed decision-making. Strong digital skills in communication, digital marketing, analytics, problem-solving, and collaboration further support operational resilience and evidence-based strategies in online markets. Moreover, positive digital attitudes characterized by adaptability, growth orientation, ethical conduct, workforce readiness, and resilience facilitate effective technology adoption and sustained competitiveness. The findings indicate that e-commerce success and sustainability among MSMEs are not driven by technology alone but by the synergistic integration of digital knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The study underscores the need for targeted capacity-building programs and policy interventions to strengthen holistic digital competencies among MSME entrepreneurs.
