There is a particular kind of patience known only to farmers and founders. Both begin in soil that looks, to the untrained eye, like nothing at all, a patch of brown earth, a blank business plan, a single seed pressed into darkness with no guarantee of light. And yet from that darkness, given enough care, something insists on rising. This is the quiet, stubborn art at the heart of green entrepreneurship: the belief that a business, like a tree, is not built so much as grown.
