Lakbay-Diwa Publishing. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15646089 Read File Author(s) Rebosada, Maria Teresa Abstract Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs are vital for creating conducive learning environments in schools. In the Philippines, the Department of Education (DepEd) has institutionalized WASH initiatives through DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2016, aiming to reduce absenteeism and enhance health outcomes among students. Despite this policy support, significant gaps remain in both infrastructure and implementation, particularly in rural schools such as Carmen Central Elementary School, which continues to face challenges in providing adequate facilities. Although global studies have emphasized the importance of WASH (WHO, 2020; UNICEF, 2019), localized evidence on its specific impact on basic education services in Philippine elementary schools remains limited. This study seeks to address this gap by examining the current status of WASH facilities and their influence on educational outcomes in a rural school setting. Specifically, it aims to assess the quality of WASH facilities, explore the correlation between WASH and students’ health and attendance, and identify the roles of various stakeholders in sustaining these programs. The study hypothesizes that effective WASH programs significantly enhance students’ health, attendance, and academic performance. It is guided by the Comprehensive WASH in Schools Policy (DepEd, 2016) and the WHO Health-Promoting Schools model, both of which highlight the critical connection between adequate WASH infrastructure and positive educational outcomes. Abstract This study examined the possibilities of employing the TikTok application as a tool for extramural learning in enhancing the oral communication skills of Senior High School students. Using a descriptive- correlational research, the study employed the use of an adopted Student Oral Language Observation Matrix (SOLOM) to determine the level of oral communication proficiency of the respondents before and after the intervention, TikTok links to be watched for intervention, and list of guide questions for Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to collect feedback from the respondents’ perceptions in the development of oral communication through TikTok. The initial level of oral communication proficiency of the respondents was determined to be at an intermediate fluency both before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in the oral communication proficiency of the respondents before and after the intervention. However, feedback garnered from focus group discussions indicated positive responses from the participants towards the use of TikTok as a learning tool. Despite the absence of a notable improvement in oral communication proficiency in post intervention, the favorable feedback from the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) suggested a promising outlook for the potential efficacy of TikTok as an educational tool. The findings of this study serve as a foundational exploration in crafting a comprehensive learning plan that leverages TikTok to enhance oral communication skills among Senior High School students. Further research, practical recommendations and refinement of strategies may be warranted to optimize the utilization of TikTok into language learning programs. However, many ALS teachers face challenges in effectively integrating Educational Technology (EdTech) tools into their teaching practices, limiting the educational outcomes for their students. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of focused EdTech training on the effectiveness of ALS teachers in using digital tools. Specifically, it aimed to enhance teachers' proficiency, increase the frequency of EdTech usage, and boost their confidence in integrating technology into their lessons. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing surveys to assess ALS teachers' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and usage of EdTech tools before and after the training. The findings revealed that, while ALS teachers held positive attitudes toward EdTech, their proficiency and usage frequency were moderate, with challenges in consistent usage and troubleshooting. Based on these results, the study recommends implementing "Project TECH-UP," an initiative designed to provide continuous, hands-on training, increase tool usage, and promote peer support. This intervention is expected to enhance instructional practices and ultimately improve learning outcomes for ALS learners. The study highlights the importance of ongoing professional development in bridging the digital divide and enhancing educational quality within ALS programs, serving as a potential model for similar initiatives in other regions. Abstract Graduate employability remains a key indicator of the effectiveness of higher education programs in preparing students for the workforce. This study assessed the employability of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) graduates of Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. from 2018 to 2022. Using a descriptive-correlational design, data were gathered through an adapted questionnaire administered online to determine graduates’ profiles, employment status, and skill development. Results revealed that most graduates were female, single, and within the prime working age, with the majority passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Employment was generally obtained within one year after graduation, often in temporary or contractual positions as teachers or administrative staff. Graduates displayed strong interpersonal and communication skills but showed areas for improvement in planning, problem-solving, and technological competencies. Statistical results indicated no significant influence of age, civil status, or eligibility on employability, while sex and educational attainment showed minor variations. A highly significant positive correlation was found between skills development and employability, confirming that greater professional competence enhances employment outcomes. The study concludes that BEEd graduates are highly employable and possess the essential competencies demanded by the education sector. Continuous curriculum enhancement and intervention programs are recommended to further strengthen graduates’ career readiness and employment prospects.
